Dirty Water

The human eye can see many things, but the microscope can see more. My table group and I did experiments with water that was not clean. We put one or two drops of water under a microscope. This is what we saw.

The first beaker had blood worms in the water. The microscope allowed us to see them up close.

This beaker was called "Turtle Water". When we looked at the green stuff under a microscope, we found little creatures swimming around it. These creatures are the things that make you sick.

This is a huge problem all over the world. Many people do not have access to clean water and get sick from the things that we saw under the microscope.

Water facts
  • 3.4 million people die each year from a water related disease
  • Every 21 seconds, a child dies from a water related illness
  • 780 million people lack access to clean water. Thats 2 1/2 times the population of the USA
